| Chongqing Southwest No.2 Pharmaceutical Factory, which was founded in 1958, is a modernized comprehensive pharmaceutical company for manufacturing of bulk synthetic chemicals, formulations and pharmaceutical intermediates. The company has moved to Jiangjin Degan Industrial Park in 2005 in accordance with the requirement of Environmental Treatment Removal of Three Gorges Reservoir that was authorized by National Development and Reform Commission. The new company has passed National GMP inspection. Its floor area occupies over 189 Mu. The plant can provide workshops of solid formulations, pharmaceutical bulks and chemical intermediates. It has a QC center, R&D department and a complete set of auxiliary systems including dynamical systems and sewage disposal systems. The company manufactures various kinds of pharmaceutical bulks (APIs) and solid formulations, which include antidepressant, antimalaria, sedative-hypnotic, antipyretics, analgesiscs, anti-hypertension and anti-inflammatory medicine, as well as various pharmaceutical intermediates.

The main products of the company include antidepressant, antimalaria, sedative-hypnotic, antipyretics and analgesiscs, hypertension relieving and anti-inflammatory solid formulations and bulks. The company has a solid manufacturing plant with 300 thousand class cleanliness which is able to manufacture 0.5 billion tablets per year and 0.2 billion capsules per year; a bulk and chemical intermediates manufacturing plant with 100 thousand class cleanliness refine, dry and packing functions; a biochemistry test room with 10 thousand class of whole area and 100 class in part and a QA room equipped with HPLC apparatus, GC apparatus, UV detect and infrared detect apparatus. It also has a R & D department that including chemical synthesis room and formulation R & D room, a sewage disposal station which effluent disposal capacity up to 500 ton per day and complied with National 1 class effluent standard, and consummate water, electrical, gas and cooling facilities.
The bulks and formulations manufactured by the company have passed the national GMP inspection last year. Thereinto, meprobamate has already been registered in Europe and Cuba, which established strong foundation for companys oversea marketing strategy.
